Repositioning charges
In the case of multiple ports of destination, inbound cargo exceeds the outbound cargo, as a result of which the shipping companies are faced with large quantities of empty containers on the quayside, which are no longer used for export. In order to be able to transport these containers to the nearest hub for reuse, a surcharge is charged on the outward cargo so as to cover these costs.
