Cross-docking
This is the transhipment of goods at various points in the delivery chain. The term cross-docking relates to the physical receipt of goods and their immediate transit to the next phase in the delivery chain, without interim storage. This includes transport from the supplier to a central warehouse of the client, where the goods are delivered in such a way that they can be moved on to their final destination.
