Delivery Note
When goods that are being transported on one Bill of Lading are sold on during transport by sea, the recipient who sold the goods will issue a delivery order or delivery note to the different buyers, each for their share in the load they purchased. The delivery note is a document that is issued to the new recipients at the request of the original recipient of the cargo. That means that the Bills of Lading can be split up. The original Bills of Lading are cancelled as a result of a delivery note being issued.
